IMF HIGHLY APPRECIATES MACROECONOMIC INDICES OF AZERBAIJAN
Deputy head and acting Chairman of IMF Augustine Charstens highly appreciated macroeconomic indices of Azerbaijan, low level of inflation and stable course of manat, AzerTAj correspondent reports from Washington. IMF official representative made this statement after studying of economic indices of Azerbaijan in frame of poverty reduction and economic development program.
Having satisfied with the indices of the country, IMF decided to allocate three credits in 19 mln dollars. Thus, credit approved to Azerbaijan for poverty reduction and Economic Development program made up $ 62 mln.
Mr. Charstens stated that despite the positive macroeconomic indices exceed incomes per capita, poverty is still widely taken place. Economy of the country depends on sharp change of oil price. He stressed the necessity of urge realization of the structural reforms in energy and banking systems planned by the government. According to IMF official representative, positive changes in management will create favorable conditions for economic growth.
