WORLD
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT KANSAI GOING DOWN
The second largest international airport in Japan, Kansai constructed on the manmade island in the Osaka bay and situated at the 600 km southwest of Tokyo has sunk 14 cm for the last year.
Beginning from the very first measurements in 1988, the island has sunk 12,18 meters under the water, Kyodo Tsushin agency reports. Special sensors are fixed in 17 notches including the runway and building of the terminal.
The international airport Kansai has begun functioning since 1994.
