PACE Rapporteur visits Parliament of Azerbaijan

Rapporteur of the Political Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Robert Walter has visited the Parliament of Azerbaijan.
He met representatives of political parties at the parliament. Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, MP Siyavush Novruzov praised Azerbaijani-European relations. He highlighted preparations for the parliamentary elections to be held in the country.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Mr Novruzov said Armenia continues to maintain non-constructive position, adding Azerbaijan always supported peace and stability.
Mr Walter spoke about work done under his mandate, adding this mandate caused dissatisfaction of Armenia. He noted that Armenian parliamentarians refused to cooperate with him. Mr Walter also said he will hold several important meetings in Baku.
The rapporteur then met members of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE. Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov highlighted progress achieved in increasing Europe`s awareness of the realities about Azerbaijan.
