-Hello! My name is Sung Boo Cho. I am President and CEO of Yonhap News Agency, a South Korea’s key news agency. First of all, I would like to convey my sincerest congratulation on the centennial anniversary of the foundation of the Azerbaijani State News Agency AZERTAC. The recent achievement and status AZERTAC has made show well that your esteemed Agency has been growing and developing consistently for such a long time of a century. As the representative case of those recent achievements, I can’t help mentioning about both the 5th News Agencies World Congress and the 16th OANA General Assembly, which were simultaneously and successfully hosted by AZERTAC in November, 2016. Successful hosting of these significant international occasions under the excellent leadership of AZERTAC Director General Mr.Aslan Aslanov demonstrated well AZERTAC’s competence as a global newswire. In particular, under the excellent leadership AZERTAC has eminently carried out its roles and duties as the chair agency of the OANA for three years from 2016 through 2019. As a current President of the OANA, I also got greatly inspired by the former President Mr.Aslanov’s exceptional leadership and experience. As the key news agencies representing South Korea and Azerbaijan respectively, Yonhap News Agency and AZERTAC have maintained close exchanges and cooperation for a long period of time. In particular, the two news agencies have kept close cooperation as President and Vice President respectively since 2016, exchanging its positions of President and Vice President within the OANA in November, 2019. My sincere hope is that both agencies will continue to further expand and develop their existing cooperative ties in a variety of fields in the foreseeable future.
