“ROUND TABLE” ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES HELD
Opening the meeting attended by famous scholars and teachers, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov pinpointed a unique role of information and communication technologies, which is the main evidence of intellectual and scientific potential of every country.
Reporting on the information technologies in secondary schools, the Minister said that one computer falls per 1047 pupils now. He stressed that the schools computerization program is being drawn up on the basis of the Presidential directions. As soon as this program is realized, each school will have a computer class and one computer will be per 48 pupils.
Minister also dwelt upon problems of education institutions and stressed the necessity of preparation of the special program to develop information technologies.
Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, academician Ali Abbasov underscored the significance of information technologies in the education system and schools computerization program.
Director of the Cybernetics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences /NASA/, academician Telman Aliyev, deputy chairman of the State Students Admission Commission Namig Babayev, director of the NASA’s Information Technologies Institute, professor Rasim Aliguliyev spoke of information society and its main principles.
