RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VISITING KAZAKHSTAN
During the negotiations, the presidents discussed the issues of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The talks resulted in signing agreement between Russian company “LUKoil” and national company of Kazakhstan “GasMunayGas” on joint development of two sites in Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, agreement on launching of the first national telecommunication satellite of Kazakhstan, on joint exploitation of cosmodrome Baykonur and an agreement on joint activity in frontier issues, memorandum on further development of cooperation to provide the activity of Baykonur complex and other documents.
Following the signing ceremony, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin conducted a press conference. They noted that 393 agreements have been signed between Kazakhstan and Russia. The goods turnover between the countries exceeded $4 billion. There is a chance to make it $10 billion.
The president took part in opening of “Year of the Russian Federation in Kazakhstan”.
“The 2004 was announced “Year of Russian Federation in Kazakhstan” and I am sure that it will promote further strengthening of bilateral relations, friendly ties between the countries, peoples’ trust and belief in each other, N. Nazarbayev said.
