SECOND INTER-CONFESSIONAL PEACEMAKING FORUM OF CIS COMMENCED IN MOSCOW
Goal of the Forum is coordination of activity of the traditional religious organizations of CIS on strengthening of international and inter-confessional values, joint combat against global challenges - terrorism, etc.
As stated the Patriarchy of Moscow and All-Russia Aleksiy, among the religious confessions of the Commonwealth countries there is peace and consent. Challenges to peace and consent by the Commonwealth religious leaders promoted to avoid many factions, prevent inter-confessional conflicts.
Speaking that on the eve of his visit to Moscow he met President Ilham Aliyev, who, knowing on the Forum, said that the problems that today worry the peoples could be solved with joint efforts, in the process of not only inter-state, but also inter-national and inter-religious dialogue. Ideals of humanism, goodwill and justice are characteristic for all the world religions, and this attaches great importance to constructive inter-confessional intercourse to reach peace and consent among the peoples and countries.
On behalf of the participants of Forum, Sheik-ul-Islam expressed gratitude to President of Russia Vladimir Putin whose assessment of the religious potential fully goes in line with those goals and tasks that the religious men follow. A. Pashazadeh made proposal to hold the next inter-confessional Forum of CIS in Baku.
Then, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Ramiz Rzayev read out the letter of congratulations of Azerbaijan President to the participants of the Forum.
Then was speaking acting foreign minister of Russia Igor Ivanov, who said the Russia is against authentication of terrorism with Islam and that such tendency is dangerous.
Then, was read out message of congratulation of the Russian President, whereby it is said that Russia welcomes the dialogue of religious leaders of the Commonwealth countries.
The Forum will continue on 3 March.
