SOUTHERN AFRICAN WRITER TO RECEIVE NOBEL PRIZE

In accordance with the Swedish Royal Academy, Southern African writer Con Mcwell will receive Nobel Prize on literature, in 2003.

He was born in Capetown, in 1940, then graduated from the local University on mathematics, and continued his education in the US.

He started to write in 1974. He was awarded with Booker prize in 1983 for his roman “ Makl Can life and wandering”, in 1989 for “Shame”.
