TURKEY CELEBRATES VICTORY DAY
On August 30th Turkey marked the Victory Day (Day of Armed Forces of Turkey) throughout the country. The official ceremony was held at Anitkabir, the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of Turkish Republic. Chief of General Staff Hilmi Ozkok and general staff members laid a wreath on Ataturk's Mausoleum.
President of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, chairman of the Grand National Assembly Bulent Arinc, Chief of the General Staff Hilmi Ozkok, members of the Cabinet, deputies, military attaches and ambassadors accredited in Turkey arrived at the Ataturk Culture Center in Ankara to watch the military parade and airmanship of the famous pilot group Turkish Stars.
On the same day, chief of the General Staff, general Hilmi Ozkok, general staff members, generals and admirals visited the cemetery and laid flowers on the graves of soldiers fallen for the independence and territorial integrity of Turkey.
