Uzbek PM: Launch of BTK will boost region’s progress
Baku, October 31, AZERTAC
"The opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is a great contribution to the restoration of the historical Silk Road. In ancient times this road passed through the territories of our countries and boosted trade, cultural and spiritual exchange between our nations. The BTK railway project will boost the region’s progress,” said Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov at a solemn opening ceremony of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway in Baku.
The Uzbek Prime Minister said the BTK, which is becoming an integral part of the East-West transport corridor, will be of special importance to Central Asian countries. "There is no doubt that the railway line will create the opportunity for launching the shortest transport corridor from China to Europe. Uzbekistan is also interested in actively using this corridor to increase the volume of its foreign trade shipping.”
Abdulla Aripov noted that the launch of BTK railway will further strengthen trade and economic relations and increase transit and economic potential between the countries.
