WORKS DONE IN THE FIELD OF CUSTOMS IN AZERBAIJAN GAVE POSITIVE RESULTS

Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Mr. Michael Dane and his retinue, 30 September
Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister for warm reception, Mr. Michael Dane stressed the conducted reforms in the field of customs and its positive conclusions, said that he took part at the opening ceremony of the training center in Mashtaga settlement of Baku. He stressed the importance of the object in increasing experience of the customs personnel of Azerbaijan, adding his satisfaction with the existing cooperation links between Azerbaijan Customs Committee and his Organization and expressed his confidence for further steady relations.
Noting particular role of President Heydar Aliyev in creation and development of the existing cooperation, the guest asked to convey his cordial greetings to the head of the Azerbaijani state.
Expressing his gratitude to the guest, Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev said:
“Thank you very much. I will willingly extend your gretings. I am very pleased, as you noted, your Organization has highly appreciated the reforms conducted in the fields of customs in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is a newly independent state and of course, the customs system of the Country was reset in Azerbaijan in the last years. We had no experience in this sphere in past. Yes, it is very delightful that the works done in the customs field have yielded their fruits. Today we can say that in Azerbaijan there has been created a microstructure meeting the world requirements.
The newly constructed Training Center is very important. Azerbaijan becomes economically strong, economic reforms are underway in the country. The works conducted in numerous fields of society, as well as in customs bodies, in Azerbaijan, meet all the existing world standards. I know that Chairman of the Customs Committee Kamaladdin Heydarov says that our customs organization is the active member of your Organization, takes part in your arrangements. We would like that our Customs Committee held a firm point in the international Organization, study share with your experience, make its contributions. Your visit shows that these links are at high due level.
