'Azerbaijan, Jordan enjoy excellent bilateral relations'

Baku, March 16, AZERTAC
"Azerbaijan and Jordan enjoy excellent bilateral relations," said President of the Senate of Jordan Faisal Al-Fayez as he met with the Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov.
Speaker Asadov hailed Azerbaijan-Jordan political ties, as well as current interparliamentary relations between the two countries.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he noted that 20 per cent of the Azerbaijani territories have been occupied by the Armenian armed forces. Saying Jordan has always supported the fair stance of Azerbaijan, Speaker Asadov hailed the adoption of a statement on Khojaly genocide by the country's Senate as an obvious example of this.
Asadov noted that 2017 was declared a Year of Islamic Solidarity in Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev.
He also briefed the president of the Senate of Jordan on the Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Azerbaijan this May.
