Azerbaijan, Belarus hail strategic partnership

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, and Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, made joint statements to the press following a bilateral meeting.
“As Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized, relations between the two countries have successfully stood the test of time, and that Azerbaijan and Belarus are reliable friends,” Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said.
The Speaker of the Milli Majlis emphasized the role of friendly relations between the two countries’ Presidents, high-level reciprocal visits and meetings in advancing bilateral ties.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova also mentioned that the two countries’ legislative bodies maintain cooperation within international organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the CIS Parliamentary Assembly, and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
Sahiba Gafarova once again hailed the interparliamentary ties between the two countries.
In his statement, Igor Sergeyenko shared positive impressions of his visit to Azerbaijan, praising the interparliamentary ties between the two countries. Recalling that he also participated in the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) on the instructions of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, Igor Sergeyenko hailed the successful organization of the event.
