AZERBAIJAN, MOLDOVA SIGN MOU TO COOPERATE IN THE FIELDS OF YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS
The MoU envisages conducting joint conferences, workshops, training; establishment of relations between youth organizations and sports federations of the two countries; exchange of delegations as well as holding special events against AIDS and drugs.
The two sides also agreed on conducting joint trainings of the Azerbaijani and Moldavian sportsmen to prepare for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
After the signing ceremony, Viktor Tsvirkun told a news conference that relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova have improved significantly since Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Vladimir Voronin of Moldova had mutual visits.
He said Moldova, just as Azerbaijan, also has faced separatism problems, and staunchly supports Azerbaijan’s equitable position in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
The Azerbaijani Minister Rahimov, for his part, noted his counterpart’s visit to Azerbaijan will create new opportunities to establish ties between youth and sports organizations of the two countries, and broaden bilateral cooperation.
