AZERBAIJAN, NATO: NEW STAGE OF COOPEARTION
PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV VISITING TURKEY
At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport President of Azerbaijan Republic was seen of by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, head of President Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, the Baky Mayor Hjaibala Abutalibov and ambassador of Turkey to Azerbaijan Ahmad Unal Chevigez.

The same day, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Istanbul.

Head of Azerbaijan State and his spouse Mehriban Khanum Aliyeva was cordially welcomed at the Ataturk International Airport.

On 26 June, President of Azerbaijan took part at the ceremony of opening in the center of Istanbul of the Heydar Aliyev Park and monument erected to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
The same day, also was arranged an exhibition narrating on the life and activity of President Heydar Aliyev.
Head of the municipality Mustafa Sarigul opened the ceremony attended by thousands of residents of the Sisli municipality of Istanbul. Head of the Istanbul Mayoral Muammer Guler addressed the visitors.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on 26 June met at his residence in Chiragan Palace Mr. Bill Freest, head of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate.
In the meeting, Mr. Bill Freest interested in the latest ongoing processes in Azerbaijan, as well as in the goal of the head of Azerbaijan State in participation in the NATO Summit. President of Azerbaijan updated on the democratic processes in the country, on the goals in participation in the current Summit, as well as on the reasons of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh, its sequences, the work done for peaceful settlement of the conflict, on realization of the oil strategy founded by the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the upcoming tasks in this connection. Head of the Azerbaijan State, in particular, stressed the necessity of NATO’s close assistance for settlement of the conflict.
Mr. Bill Freest stated that the number of senators in the US Congress who understand the fair position of Azerbaijan is gradually growing and they would render the due support in this cause.
