Azerbaijan State Economic University, Bulgarian University of Agribusiness and Rural Development discuss cooperation
Baku, April 24 (AZERTAC). Rector of the Bulgarian University of Agribusiness and Rural Development, Professor Dimitar Dimitrov has visited Azerbaijan State Economic University (ASEU).
Rector Shamsaddin Hajiyev gave full information about the University, saying “the all-round development process started at the University after national leader Heydar Aliyev`s return to the power in Azerbaijan”.
He also stressed President Ilham Aliyev`s care to science and education in the country, which, according to him, “resulted in strengthening of technical base of the University”.
Hajiyev recalled the agreement on cooperation between the Azerbaijan State Economic University and the University of National and World Economy of Bulgaria, signed during the official meeting of Azerbaijani and Bulgarian presidents in 2011, and said he is interested in establishment of further relations with Bulgarian universities, adding, “recently ASEU and the D.A.Tsenov Academy of Economics have signed an agreement on cooperation”.
Professor Dimitar Dimitrov hailed the activity of the ASEU, saying “it can be compared with leading European universities”. He, in turn, spoke of the University of Agribusiness and Rural Development of Bulgaria, noting “we are interested in development of educational and business ties with ASEU in the fields of food and agriculture”.
The meeting also discussed exchange of student and teaching staff of the two universities, as well as organization of joint conferences and participation in the programs like the Erasmus and Tempus programs of the European Union.
The sides also stressed the importance to sign mutual agreements and memorandums during future meetings in order to make bilateral relations official.
