AZERBAIJANI ATHLETES TO COMPETE FOR BOSPHORUS CUP
Azerbaijani gymnasts were invited for the 18th international artistic gymnastics tournament “Bosphorus Cup” to be held right after the Olympic games in early September in Istanbul. Trainers continue trainings with athletes varying the line-up. Today young gymnasts of the republican Olympic sport lyceum have equal chances to go to Istanbul.
Bosphorus Cup is considered as one of the most prestigious competitions. Representatives of 50 countries are expected to compete at the tournament. Last year, Azerbaijani gymnast Nizami Abbasov reached the final and ranked fifth in the ring exercises.
Winner will be known on the first day of the competitions in the absolute competition while on the second day – best in separate kinds of the all-round.
