AZERBAIJANI BOXER WINS
The Azerbaijani world champion Agasi Mammadov, boxer in 54-kilogram weight category, defeated his Ukrainian opponent Maxim Tretyak with 32-12 points difference and guaranteed a medal, AzerTAj correspondent reported.
Another world champion Nizami Pashayev failed to lift 180 kilogram and was disqualified from the contest. Greco-roman wrestler Farid Mansurov will take stage today. He will wrestle for medals tomorrow if he defeats his opponent today. Another weightlifter Alan Naniyev will start his performance at 6:30 p.m. Baku time.
Naniyev will perform in Group B. Boxer Rovshan Huseynov will take ring against three-times world champion Mario Sesar Kindelan Mesa from Cuba. Contest will start at 11 p.m. Huseynov will guarantee minimum medal if he defeats Cuban athlete.
