Azerbaijani diplomat holds high-level meetings in Eswatini to advance bilateral cooperation

On February 18-21, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of South Africa Huseyn Rahimli visited the country to attend the opening ceremony of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
As part of the visit, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Azerbaijan Huseyn Rahimli met on February 19 with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu at the Royal Palace to discuss opportunities for cooperation between the two countries across various areas.
Afterwards, His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini received Huseyn Rahimli. During the meeting, King Mswati III conveyed his sincere greetings to President of Azerbaijan, particularly emphasizing the sincere relations established between the King of Eswatini, and the President of Azerbaijan, and commending these friendly ties.
King of Eswatini Mswati III said he would participate in the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan.
Touching upon the development of bilateral relations, King Mswati III expressed his keenness to expand trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan (energy, transport, investment, etc.), as well as implement joint projects in the mining industry, including attracting Azerbaijani investments for the development of the sector.
Highlighting the achievements in the field of legal and economic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan, Huseyn Rahimli provided an overview of the ongoing restoration and reconstruction projects in the territories liberated from occupation following the glorious Victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day war under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the efforts to restore modern social and cultural infrastructure, as well as communication and transport lines.
The meeting underscored that the close cooperation between both countries within the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and other influential international bodies stands as a clear testament to providing mutual support to each other on issues of strategic importance.
Huseyn Rahimli stated that Azerbaijan provides support to enhance public sector services across Africa, leveraging the proven success of models such as “ASAN Khidmet” and “DOST,” both established at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
On February 20, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Azerbaijan Huseyn Rahimli also attended the opening ceremony of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Eswatini. In a subsequent meeting with Speaker of House of Assembly (Parliament) Jabulani Mabuza, both parties underlined that strengthening parliamentary diplomacy is key to advancing the bilateral cooperation agenda.
