Azerbaijani FM meets First Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia
Baku, October 30 AZERTACAzerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov has met First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia Vesna Pusic.
They discussed the development of a legal base, as well as promotion of investment, cooperation in the cultural, tourism and humanitarian fields.
FM Mammadyarov hailed Azerbaijan-Croatia relations as close.
He stressed the importance of increasing the number of reciprocal visits, saying this contributes to developing the relations.
Ms. Pusic lauded Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring the energy security of Europe, adding Croatia was interested in energy cooperation with Azerbaijan.
She hailed “successful” cooperation between the two countries in the field of shipbuilding.
Mr. Mammadyarov highlighted the history and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current state of the negotiations to solve the dispute. He praised Croatia`s position on the conflict, saying it is based on the UN Charter and international law.
