Baku, June 9 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament`s Standing Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Cooperation Samad Seyidov has met Vice-Chairman of the European Parliament`s Committee on Foreign Affairs Fiorello Provera.
Touching upon the Italy-Azerbaijan interparliamentary relations, Seyidov praised the activity of friendship groups at both parliaments.
He also praised the two countries` all-round cooperation, in particular in the economic, cultural, humanitarian and social areas.
Seyidov also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, expressing regret over the fact “Armenia continues to reject the conflict-related resolutions”.

He praised bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Provera expressed assurance for soonest settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh dispute by peaceful means.
Provera said the Italian Senate adopted a resolution on the South Caucasus in early 2010, adding “according to the resolution, regional conflicts, including Nagorno-Karabakh dispute must be settled based on the principles of territorial integrity of the countries”.
Azerbaijani MPs, who attended the meeting, praised the Italian parliament`s resolution, expressing hope “Italy will always back Azerbaijan`s just position”.
