AzerTAc receives special certificate for providing information support to International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition and Conference
Baku, June 8 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency-AZERTAC has received a special certificate of the Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition Incorporating Refining and Petrochemicals for successful coverage of the event.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Caspian Oil & Gas continues to be the largest and best-attended oil and gas event in the Azerbaijan and the Caspian region. The event is held annually under the patronage of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and is officially supported by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan and SOCAR.
The Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition this year took place on a significant date - the 90th anniversary of the birth of Azerbaijan’s National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, who founded the exhibition and was the inspiration behind its concept. The first exhibition was held in 1994 on the eve of the signing of the “Contract of the Century”, an agreement which defined the main development areas for the Caspian Basin’s hydrocarbon resources. At that point, Heydar Aliyev supported the initiative of holding Azerbaijan’s first oil and gas exhibition, considering it “a good platform for attracting global oil and gas companies to the development of the country’s oil and gas industry.” Since then, Caspian Oil & Gas has been a meeting place for leading oil, gas and energy industry professionals where memoranda, agreements, and contracts for future cooperation are signed.
The participant list of the Exhibition and Conference included leading companies of the global oil and energy sector. 5,600 companies from over 70 world countries have taken part in the event since its launch.
This 20th anniversary edition of Caspian Oil & Gas brought together 386 companies from 27 countries, including oil and gas field developers and service providers. The Exhibition brought together professionals and leaders of the sector from around the world to present advanced technologies for extracting and processing oil and gas, transport and logistics, and services.
Five countries such as Germany, China, Russia, Turkey and the Great Britain had been represented by own national groups. Local companies make 30 percent of total participants.
General sponsor of the exhibition is the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, and gold sponsors are BP-Azerbaijan and Statoil.
