Declaration adopted at International Conference on Neocolonialism and Global Inequality

A declaration was adopted following the international conference titled “Neocolonialism and Global Inequality”, held in Baku on February 19 and organized by the Baku Initiative Group.
The declaration states that participants recognize the historical and structural causes of global inequality, support the rights of peoples to self-determination and sovereignty over natural resources, regard decolonization as a fundamental obligation, and reaffirm their commitment to the principle of international solidarity.
Participants also called for reforms within international institutions, intensified efforts to combat inequality, strengthened scientific research and public dialogue, and the development of fair partnerships that respect national sovereignty.
The conference highly praised the Baku Initiative Group’s contribution to the global decolonization process, particularly through its Virtual Museum of Colonialism.
