FM Vella: Malta is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan

Malta is interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan, Maltese Foreign Minister George Vella has told a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.
He also touched upon the recent escalation on the line of contact between the Armenian and Azerbaijani troops. The FM said Malta supported all efforts to establish lasting peace.
Mr Vella also said Malta was concerned about the latest incidents on the frontline as other OSCE and EU members states.
“Azerbaijan-Malta relations are developing day by day. Both countries are keen to enhance mutual cooperation,” said Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov.
He said they discussed Malta’s upcoming presidency of the European Union, as well as international and regional situation, and migrants problem in Europe.
