High-level relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan continue successfully at parliamentary level

As part of her working visit to Bukhara, Uzbekistan, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.
During the meeting, the sides hailed the development of relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries, placing particular emphasis on the role of the heads of state in deepening bilateral ties. It was noted that, thanks to the strong political will of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, relations have further expanded, strategic partnership has entered a new qualitative stage, and cooperation is successfully continuing across a wide range of fields.
The parties underlined that high-level relations between the two countries are being successfully continued at the parliamentary level. Cooperation between the parliaments, both bilaterally and within international parliamentary organizations, was highly commended. It was emphasized that reciprocal visits and regular meetings between the heads of legislative bodies and deputies contribute significantly to strengthening interparliamentary ties.
The meeting also highlighted the high-level organization of the Second Asian Women’s Forum in Uzbekistan, expressing confidence that the event would support initiatives aimed at promoting the greater participation of women in political, economic, and social life.
The sides also exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.
