Indonesian tourism potential highlighted in Baku

Indonesian Embassy in Baku has hosted an event highlighting the country`s tourism potential. The event has been held within the Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair AITF 2016.
The event brought together Indonesian Deputy Assistant for Industry, Trade, Tourism and Creative Economy Muchammad Zulkarnain, representatives of the tourism companies and the Media.
Indonesian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Husnan bey Fananie said his country attached great importance to this event. The diplomat highlighted relations between the two countries, adding mutual sympathy and respect lie at the heart of our ties. On prospects of the friendly relations, Husnan bey Fananie provided an insight into business and economic bonds between the two countries. The Ambassador expressed hope that these relations would cover the tourism field “There are small islands in Indonesia. We hope that we will work together following the meetings of the representatives of tourism companies between the two countries. I also hope we will attract the view and will increase a number of tourists from Azerbaijan to Indonesia.”
Indonesian Deputy Assistant for Industry, Trade, Tourism and Creative Economy Muchammad Zulkarnain said about 480 Azerbaijani tourists annually visited Indonesia and the island of Bali is the most popular holiday destination. "But we have other islands such as Papua, Komodo, the Moluccas Islands and Anobon, where tourists can also find a lot of interesting things,” added Mr. Zulkarnain. He stressed the importance of opening direct flights between Azerbaijan and Indonesia.
“Training also can be carried out here for the local employees. Currently, about 20 Indonesians work in Azerbaijan in the sphere of tourism.”
Mr. Zulkarnain also highlighted the aim of their visit, adding Indonesian delegation visited Baku to learn the tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan.
The event featured a demonstration of video on tourism potential of Indonesia.
