MM STANDING COMMISSION DISCUSSES BILL ON USE OF FLAGS OF FOREIGN STATES AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS
The Milli Majlis Standing Commission on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties discussed the bill “On Rules for Using of Flags of Foreign States and International Organizations” at its meeting on Friday. According to Commission Chief Samad Seyidov, this law will regulate rules for using flags of foreign countries and international organizations.
The bill says Azerbaijan nationals, foreigners staying in Azerbaijan and stateless persons must respect the flags of foreign states and international organizations. In accordance with the international legal norms and diplomatic protocol procedures, flags of foreign states and international organizations may be hoisted on the buildings of foreign missions and consulates in Azerbaijan, during international events, and in special places during official visits of foreign delegations, and on ships which have entered the territorial waters of Azerbaijan.
Flags may be displayed in the offices of heads of foreign diplomatic missions and consulates, and on cars of heads of foreign states and delegations visiting Azerbaijan, heads of diplomatic missions and consulates
Standing committee recommended the bill be introduced to the Milli Majlis.
