National Leader Heydar Aliyev commemorated in Rome

A commemorative event marking the anniversary of the passing of National Leader Heydar Aliyev co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy, the Azerbaijani Cultural Center and the Azerbaijani Students and Alumni Platform (ASAP) was held in Rome, Italy.
The memorial event began with performance of Azerbaijan`s National Anthem, a minute of silence to honor the memory of the National Leader.
Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov highlighted Heydar Aliyev`s exceptional role in establishment of modern Azerbaijani statehood. The Ambassador emphasized that the oil strategy, authored by the National Leader, and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, has made a significant contribution to Europe's energy security.
The ambassador briefed the Azerbaijani youth studying in Rome and emphasized the special attention National Leader Heydar Aliyev paid to the development of young people, as well as the importance of state programs implemented in this area.
Following the speeches, the event featured the screening of the “Iz” (Trace) documentary produced by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, reflecting the life and activity of the National Leader.
