NATO Secretary General and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister hold meeting in Brussels

The Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and acknowledged its counterterrorism efforts. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretary General and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
The two sides reviewed the status of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on issues of common interest, including peace and security, terrorism, climate change, and regional and global developments. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing mutually beneficial engagement between Pakistan and NATO and agreed to continue working closely to address common challenges and further strengthen their partnership for the promotion of peace and security in the region and beyond.
Mohammad Ishaq Dar underscored Pakistan’s desire and efforts for a peaceful and stable South Asia, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue and cooperation. Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism, he stressed that the threat of terrorism Pakistan continues to face is primarily supported and perpetrated from beyond its borders. He noted that the Government of Pakistan is actively implementing measures to counter these threats.
