Official visit to Azerbaijan of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Gryzlov ended on March 30.

At the international airport after Heydar Aliyev, decorated with national flags of Azerbaijan and Russia, the honored guest and persons accompanying him were seen off by the Chairman of Milli Majlis Murtuz Alaskarov, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Azerbaijan Nikolay Ryabov, other officials.

Before his departure, Boris Gryzlov, answering questions of journalists, told: “I highly estimate the present level of relations between parliaments of Russia and Azerbaijan, and the meeting which we carried out, can lead to closer interaction. During official visit, we have discussed work of inter-parliamentary group, and in some days members of this group will meet and in Moscow. Deputies of the State Duma of Russia will participate in a business forum, which will take place on April 6-7 in Baku. These are concrete steps, which we have discussed, and inter-parliamentary groups will discuss questions of unification of the legislation, studying of achievements in the field of legislations of the different countries to apply progressive ideas, which, certainly, are in Azerbaijan and Russia.

We have extremely friendly relations. These are relations and between the heads of two states, and parliaments. I could meet the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Prime Minister of Republic. We have discussed enough broad range of questions, including interstate. And I think all this will serve interests of our states.

During visit we have discussed all planned questions, but, certainly, always there are any unsolved questions. In particular, one of the important questions is raising commodity circulation between the two countries. There is a task which presidents of two countries have formulated – reach one billion US dollars a year. It is still an unresolved question; we just spoke in Baku about how to solve it. But this task has been put, and it will be certainly solved, there are economic projects in the field of transportation of energy carriers, there are ideas on wider participation of the Russian capital in activity of the machine-building structure here, in Baku, by creation of joint ventures. It will help to increase commodity circulation. There is an opportunity to increase commodity circulation also due to expansion of spheres of services and it is the important component. And quite real task, and it can be solved during, as it seems to me, two years.
