OVER 7 THOUSAND TONS OF FRUIT GATHERED
In the Ismailli province of Azerbaijan that is well known with its famous sort of «Gizilahmedi» apple, the harvest of fruit notably raised last years. Fruit growing is intensively developing in the region.
Current year, over 7 thousand 381 tons of apples were gathered in the gardens that exceeded the pervious year by 214 tons, chief of the statistic committee in the region Aziz Azizov told AzerTAj correspondent.
The gardeners grow mainly apple, pear, quince, nut and filbert. Only current year, gathered were 5070 tons of “Gizlahmedi” apple.
