President: Azerbaijan`s currency reserves exceed $28bn
Baku, October 21 (AZERTAC). The President of Azerbaijan has said the country`s total currency reserves have made more than 28 billion US dollars in the first nine months of the year.
President Ilham Aliyev made remarks at a Cabinet meeting which he chaired to discuss the outcomes of the socio-economic development in three quarters of 2010.
“This will strengthen our country and allow us to be quicker in solving economic and social problems.”
“Our currency reserves increased even last year which saw most of the world economies experience a certain downturn,” said the President.
“We pursued a well-considered policy and effectively used our resources to solve the problems facing our country, and, also made large investment in infrastructure projects to prevent the decrease in our currency reserves,” he added.
