President Joko Widodo Meets US President Trump on Sidelines of G20 Summit

President Joko Widodo has held a bilateral meeting with United States (US) President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.
According to Netral News, Bey Machmudin, Head of Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, said the meeting took place at the Bilateral Meeting Room of the Messe Und Congress at Hamburg.
"I would like to express my greetings from your millions of fans in Indonesia, they are interested to welcome you in Indonesia," said the President when opening the beginning of the talks.
To President Trump, President Joko Widodo also expressed his appreciation for the visit of US Vice President Michael Pence to Jakarta some time ago.
For Indonesia, the visit marked the commitment of the US to strengthen relations with Indonesia.
During the meeting, increased cooperation in the economic field and the eradication of terrorism were discussed in the meeting.
In the field of economy, President Joko Widodo conveyed Indonesia's concern for the export of palm oil to biodiesel to the United States.
The President also said that Indonesia imports soybeans in large quantities.
Therefore, the two presidents agreed to promote mutually beneficial bilateral trade.
Indonesia's trade relations with the United States today vary widely, ranging from palm oil, soy to airplanes.
Meanwhile, in the field of counter terrorism, President Joko Widodo expressed his appreciation to the commitment of the US to not become hostile to Islam and cooperate with Muslim countries to combat terrorism.
This is in line with the results of the Riyadh Summit in May which was also attended by both leaders.
