PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV MEETS PRIME MINISTER OF TURKEY RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed satisfaction with meeting again the Azerbaijani leader and the latter’s participation in the NATO Summit. He dwelled on the work done during the past years for strengthening the Turkey-Azerbaijan economic relations, as well as pointed to the fruitful exchange of views held within the NATO framework concerning the Azerbaijan’s hardest problem - resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
President Ilham Aliyev appreciated his participation in the NATO Summit and expressed gratitude for the invitation. He also touched upon the cooperation between the two countries in the realization of the international economic projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline construction, and assured his counterpart in its successful and timely completion.
President Ilham Aliyev also pointed to high-level cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the framework of international organizations. Expressing once again his gratitude to the Turkish Prime Minister, he noted that Azerbaijan has always paid high tribute to the Turkey’s considerable efforts for peaceful settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the meeting, the Presidents have also exchanged views on regional, international and a number of other issues of mutual interest.
