On December 11, President of Hungary Tamás Sulyok received Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during his working visit to Budapest.
During the meeting, both sides praised the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary, emphasizing friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation.
The importance of high-level reciprocal visits, ongoing political dialogue, people-to-people contacts, and humanitarian ties was highlighted.
The officials noted that the outcomes of the 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held on September 5 in Budapest, provided additional impetus for the further development of bilateral relations.
It was emphasized that Hungary is the third-largest investor in Azerbaijan, particularly in the energy sector, and investment plans in pharmaceuticals and other areas were reviewed. Cooperation in air transport was also discussed, along with the significance of joint activities in green energy, transit and communications, and the provision of educational scholarships.
Both sides expressed confidence that these and other topics would be addressed in detail within the framework of the 3rd Azerbaijan-Hungary Strategic Dialogue.
The meeting also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation based on mutual trust and support within international platforms, including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, and European institutions.
