PRESIDENTS OF AFFA AND FIFA DISCUSS PROSPECTS OF AZERBAIJANI FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
President discussed the prospects of Azerbaijani football development. J. Blatter assured AFFA president that FIFA would further support Azerbaijani football and contribute to active involvement of Azerbaijan in FIFA assistance and development projects. The sides agreed to develop women’s football and indoor football in Azerbaijan.
J. Blatter expressed satisfaction with the way the difficulties around Shafa stadium were sorted out.
In accordance with J. Blatter’s instructions, many FIFA departments discussed the issues coupled with Azerbaijani football development.
Meeting with FIFA secretary Urs Linsi was also fruitful. AFFA secretary general Fuad Asadov attended the meeting.
Following these meetings, AFFA president Ramiz Mirzoyev and Fuad Asadov left Switzerland for Portugal to participate July 3 in the UEFA congress in Lisbon. On July 4, all heads of national federation will be present at the final of the European Championship.
