REGULAR SESSION OF UNESCO INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMITTEE HELD
Third session of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee on “Bioethics, scientific and technology ethics” issues was held in Paris. Academician Ali Abbasov represented Azerbaijani national committee on “Bioethics, scientific and technology ethics” issues, functioning in Azerbaijan in the frameworks of UNESCO since 1999 under the direction of Academician Jalal Aliyev.First, the reports of the National committee were listened. Results of the researches, conducted under the direction of Academician Jalal Aliyev in the field of molecular biology and genetics, program of cooperation in solution of the issues common to all humanity and international relations established in this field were admitted as satisfactory. It was noted that in Azerbaijan high results on biological and medical ethics, in particular ecological ethics were achieved. Besides, to inform the world community on Armenian terror towards Azerbaijan as well as all Turkish peoples, fundamental work “Turks, Azerbaijanis, Armenians: genocide of historical truth”, where the core of Armenian terrorism and its direct relation to the bio-terror, was issued in Moscow in 2002.The second issue of the session was dedicated to “Collection, storage, and usage of data on human genome”. Academician Ali Abbasov spoke in details on the work, held in Azerbaijan in connection with the issues discussed in the session.
