Seminar commemorating 22nd anniversary of Khojaly massacre held in Argentina
Baku, February 27 (AZERTAC). A seminar on the 22nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at the Faculty of Azerbaijani Studies ay the State University La Plata in Argentina.
The seminar took place under the motto “Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and impact of its settlement on regional situation”.
The event brought together representatives of Argentine public bodies and academic circles, ambassadors of foreign countries, as well as members of religious organizations and ethnic communities in the country.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Mammad Ahmadzade highlighted the history of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of 613 people, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 olds.
Material about the Khojaly genocide and the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict was distributed among participants.
Several members of the Armenian community tried to sabotage the conduct of the event, but Argentine law enforcement bodies prevented the attempt.
