USA OPTIMIST CONCERNING THE QUESTION OF SETTLEMENT OF THE ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN, NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT
Head of the Caspian Studies Program at Harvard University of the United States Brenda Schaffer, speaking to correspondent of AZERTAC has told, that the government of the USA is optimist concerning the question of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully.
Ms. Schaffer who has taken part in discussions lead by Ankara on the topic “Power safety: Turkey and the countries of region”, has noted importance of the quick settlement of this conflict from the point of view of safety of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Main Export Pipeline having extremely great value for Azerbaijan and the entire region. Having noted, that she has no sufficient information on the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in France and the details of last consultations of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen, Brenda Schaffer has emphasized, however, that the potential of peace talks has not run low.
