AMONG 66 MEDAL WINNERS OF WORLD OLYMPIADS - 11 SUMGAIT SCHOOLCHILDREN
Sumgait schoolchildren successfully come out on the World Olympiads on separate subjects. Among the distinguished this year two pupils of Sumgait private Turkish Lyceum after Turgut Ozal - Javid Habibov, who won silver medal on the World Olympiad of schoolchildren on physics held in Japan and Rasim Ismailov who won silver medal in the international competition on economic projects in Kazakhstan.
As AzerTAj correspondent was informed in the Sumgait department of education, Azerbaijani schoolchildren, including from Sumgait, participate in the international competitions beginning with 1994. For all this time Azerbaijani schoolchildren won 66 medals on various World Olympiads, 11 of which were won by Sumgait pupils.
High level of knowledge was also demonstrated by Sumgait school leavers. More than 80 per cent of them became students, while 35 school leavers, gaining more than 600 points became students of prestigious higher educational establishments.
