Quba province marks 152 years since its first educational institution was opened in 1854.
The first school, which then had only one classroom, eight pupils and three teachers, today is a secondary school # 1 after Hajibala Aliyev.
There are 156 schools in Quba today which enroll 32,000 students, and employ over 3,000 teachers.
Sixteen schools have been constructed in the province through the sponsorship of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the last two years.
