UNWTO “Global Code of Ethics for Tourism” posted in Azerbaijani translation

Baku, May 17 (AZERTAC). Adopted in 1999 by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, the full text of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism (GCET), which is a comprehensive set of principles designed to guide key-players in tourism development, has been translated and posted on the site of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Azerbaijani language (http://ethics.unwto.org/en/content/full-text-global-code-ethics -tourism).

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism recommends all the representatives of the tourism industry, including tourists and travel companies and other related parties to get acquainted with the sector and to adhere to those standards.

Addressed to governments, the travel industry, communities and tourists alike, GCET aims to help maximize the sector`s benefits while minimizing its potentially negative impact on the environment, cultural heritage and societies across the globe.
