Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss development of relations in Astana

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aghalar Atamoglanov held a working meeting with Yernar Lazar, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Affairs.
The sides discussed several issues regarding Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan cooperation. They reviewed joint projects in the field of energy and renewable energy sources, focusing specifically on the progress of the implementation of the project to lay a fiber-optic cable along the bottom of the Caspian Sea.
The meeting also discussed mutual activity within international organizations, the preparation of high-level visits, and the development of cultural and humanitarian relations. Furthermore, discussions included activities within existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
The parties welcomed Azerbaijan's participation in the "C5+1" format and expressed confidence that this would give additional impetus to the development of regional cooperation.
They expressed their confidence that the Joint Declaration signed following the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in Washington on August 8, 2025, as well as the establishment of peace, will contribute to the opening of regional transport and communication links and the expansion of trade.
