Azerbaijan, Serbia enhance interparliamentary ties

As part of her working visit to Serbia, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, met with Ana Brnabić, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia.
The meeting focused on the current state and prospects of the development of Azerbaijan-Serbia relations, the expansion of interparliamentary ties, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Highlighting the high level of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Serbia, Sahiba Gafarova noted that relations founded on mutual trust and respect have been successfully developing in a wide range of areas. She emphasized the important role of high-level reciprocal visits and meetings in further strengthening bilateral ties.
She also outlined Azerbaijan’s initiatives during its four-year chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement and shared an insight into the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev.
Ana Brnabić hailed the development of Azerbaijan-Serbia relations, noting the positive momentum in interparliamentary cooperation as well. Recalling her official visit to Azerbaijan last September, she stressed the importance of the meetings held during the visit in further enhancing bilateral ties.
The meeting also featured an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
