AZERBAIJANI AMBASSADOR TO INDONESIA MEETS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES` SPEAKER
Baku, 14 December (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani ambassador to Indonesia Ibrahim Hajiyev has met today new chairman of the country`s House of Representatives Marzuki Ali.
The ambassador briefed the speaker on geostrategic position of Azerbaijan, the country`s economic development and integration into international community.
He noted relationship between the two countries was successfully developing, adding possible opening of Indonesia`s ambassador in Baku would contribute to boosting it even more. He also asked the speaker to support the issue.
The diplomat initiated the establishment of cooperation between New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and Indonesia`s ruling Democratic party.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the diplomat praised Indonesia`s backing sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
For his part, Marzuki Ali thanked speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament Ogtay Asadov for his congratulatory letter and invited him to Indonesia.
He noted an Indonesian parliamentary delegation led by vice-speaker of House of Representatives is planned to visit Baku.
Marzuki Ali supported the ambassador`s initiative to establish cooperation between the two countries` ruling parties and invited YAP leadership to his country.
The speaker expressed hope that Azerbaijan-Indonesia cooperation would continue to expand. He also vowed to make every effort to contribute to opening Indonesia`s embassy in Baku.
Ibrahim Hajiyev handed over books to Marzuki Ali featuring Azerbaijan`s history, culture and tourism potential, as well as Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
