Azerbaijani judokas win two medals at World Championship in Ecuador

Azerbaijan’s national judo team delivered an impressive performance at the World Championships Cadets Individuals 2026 held in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
On the final day of individual bouts, Aykhan Hasanli (81kg) powered past rivals from Costa Rica, Kuwait, Colombia, Armenia, and Japan to reach the final, claiming a silver medal against Russia’s Daniyal Biybolatov.
Earlier, Farid Rzazada claimed the gold medal in the 50 kg weight category.
Thus, Azerbaijan’s young judokas finished 4th in the boys' standings and 5th overall among 59 countries.
