AZERI INTERIOR MINISTER MEETS GEORGIAN COUNTERPART
Baku, December 28 (AZERTAC). Interior minister of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov has met Sunday his Georgian counterpart Ivane Merabishvili.
Usubov briefed his counterpart on what had been done in his country to protect public and political stability.
He praised the current level of cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Georgian law enforcement bodies, saying it serves interests of “our fraternal peoples.”
The minister noted “close cooperation between our countries` ministries is based on friendly relations between presidents Ilham Aliyev and Mikheil Saakashvili and the course of strategic partnership.”
He also pointed out documents signed between the two countries` ministries, particularly an agreement on cooperation in fighting terrorism, organized crimes and other grave crimes signed in 2006 among Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey contributed to deepening cooperation bilaterally and at the international level.
Ivane Merabishvili, in turn, expressed hope that cooperation between the two countries` ministries would continue to boost.
