Baku Engineering University expands cooperation with Beijing University of Chemical Technology
Baku, February 5, AZERTAC
Representatives of the Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) of the People’s Republic of China discussed opportunities to further expand the existing partnership between the two institutions.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized that the dual degree program currently being implemented between the two higher education institutions is continuing successfully and highlighted the importance of developing this cooperation in new areas. In particular, issues related to strengthening cooperation in education, scientific research, academic exchange, joint projects, and international programs were at the center of attention.
BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul noted that the established cooperation creates new academic and scientific opportunities for students and faculty members of both universities, while also contributing to the enhancement of the university’s international reputation. Noting that exchange programs as well as the implementation of academic and scientific research projects are envisaged as the main directions of future cooperation, the vice-rector emphasized that such partnerships have a positive impact on the development of educational and scientific relations between the two countries.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the organization of joint seminars, conferences, and training programs in the future, the institutional formation of new academic areas, and the application of international experience in this field.
It should be noted that since last year, the implementation of a dual degree program at the undergraduate level in the specialties of Chemistry, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering has been launched between BEU and BUCT. In January of this year, an agreement was signed between the two universities on the implementation of dual degree programs in three additional specialties, namely Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Business Administration.
