CoE DIRECTORATE OF YOUTH AND SPORT`s SUMMER SCHOOL KICKS OFF IN BAKU
Baku, 25 August (AZERTAC). Summer School of the Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Sport has started today here. The five-day event brings together about 35 representatives from Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Georgia, Ukraine and other Council of Europe member states.
Attending the event, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov and Head of the parliamentary delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov stressed the importance of organizing the summer school in Baku. They said Azerbaijan attaches significant importance to cooperation with the Council of Europe in the youth field.
Director of Council of Europe Directorate of Youth and Sport Ralf-Rene Weingartner said Azerbaijan, among members of the Directorate of Youth and Sport, is the most active country in terms of the youth and sports policy.
“I am sure that fruitful discussions will be held during the current summer school”, he underlined.
During the first day of the event, participants were briefed on the ongoing youth policy in Azerbaijan.
They will also discuss the youth policy of the Council of Europe and the European Commission.
European Youth Strategy 2009-2020 will be presented during the event, as well.
