Community: Armenia must stop coveting lands and culture of neighboring nations
Baku, September 17, AZERTAC
“Hysteria continues in Armenia over the visit of foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan to Garabagh and East Zangezur. These developments once again demonstrate that the Armenian people are not ready for peace. Instead of preparing society for peace and promoting the "Real Armenia" concept, the Armenian authorities are steering the processes and making unacceptable statements,” the Western Azerbaijan Community said in a statement.
"Armenia's claims to the cultural heritage belonging to the ancient Azerbaijani people in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan and the Armenian prime minister’s statement regarding the alleged Armenian origin of the Ganjasar Monastery are unacceptable.
Armenian society must abandon its claims to the territories and culture of other peoples, and free itself from being a hostage to false history. If Armenia is truly concerned about the protection of cultural heritage, then it must put an end to the destruction of mosques, historical monuments, and cemeteries belonging to the Azerbaijani people, as well as actions such as 'restoring' the Blue Mosque in Yerevan during the occupation and attributing it to another nation, much like the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha," the statement emphasized.
